Research Topics
My research topic includes soft countermeasures of disaster risk reduction, including disaster education and disaster risk communication.
Practical researches are conducted on the development, implementation, and evaluation of disaster education programs.
Interdisciplinary researches are promoted together with researchers in fields such as engineering, geography, economics, and psychology.
International joint researches are also conducted on examining how disaster-affected schools could be recovered to become more disaster resilient, and on comparative analysis of comprehensive school safety.

This laboratory's motto is "thinking about the Earth with our feet on the ground.
Emphasizing field experiences in Japan and abroad, our lab promotes practical research based on an understanding of the local natural environment, social, economic, political, cultural, and other contexts.
We conduct research to solve social problems through collaboration with diverse actors using an interdisciplinary approach with flexible ideas in uncertain times.
