All application procedures are conducted by the Japanese diplomatic mission (Embassy or Consulate General) responsible for your home country. The scholarship application generally opens in April. Please check the official website of the Japanese diplomatic mission in your home country for more details.

Until August 9, 2024 | Request of a provisional acceptance to Japanese universities |
September 2024 | Submission of a Placement Preference Application Form |
From October 2024 | Second screening and university placement |
January-February 2025 | Notification of results of selection and university placement |
Our admission process starts after you pass the first screening conducted by the Japanese diplomatic mission in your home country and receive your “Passing Certificate of the First Screening.” After receiving the certificate, please immediately contact our Academic Affairs Office (DO NOT send any application documents directly to your desired supervising professor).
After receiving the final decision from the Japanese Government, successful applicant should submit documents to apply for our master’s or doctoral courses during the following periods:
