メッセージ

私が開発途上国に関心を持つきっかけとなったのは、学部生の頃に行ったキリマンジャロ登山でした。当時、山登りをかじっていた私は、六大陸の最高峰のどれかに立ってみたいという希望がありました。そこで六大陸の最高峰としては最も登頂しやすいアフリカ大陸のキリマンジャロ山に挑戦したのです。キリマンジャロ登山の過程で、初めてアフリカ大陸の土を踏み、同時に初めての開発途上国体験をしました。そして、開発途上国のことをもっと知りたいと思うようになりました。人生の転機は、思わぬところに潜んでいることもあるようです。

Message

I have conducted researches on developing economies by using macroeconomic tools. Nonetheless, for the better understanding on developing economies, economic theory is not sufficient. I, myself, learned a lot from experiences of visiting and living in developing countries. I hope our understanding on the developing economies will become balanced one, by utilizing all of theory, data, and field observation.
