研究課題

開発途上国と呼ばれる国々の教育課題と、それらに対する取組みや政策の効果について、教育経済学の視点から実証研究を行っています。特にアフリカ地域における就学前教育をめぐる諸課題に関心があり、主にケニアをフィールドとして調査・研究に取り組んでいます。

Research Topic

My research encompasses the economics of education, education policy analysis, and international development studies. I am particularly interested in the dynamics of classroom practices and policies related to pre-primary education in sub-Saharan Africa. My current work examines the implementation of pre-primary education in Kenya and evaluates its effects on children's development.

メッセージ

学部時代に国際開発学と出会い、「なぜ貧困や格差は解消されないのか」、「豊かさや幸福とは何か」といったことを考えるようになりました。おそらく、国際協力研究科を志望する多くの学生も同様に、こうした問題意識を胸に秘めているのではないでしょうか。時には立ち止まり、「誰がための開発か？」「良い教育とは何か？」と内省しながら、共に学び、成長していければと思います。

Message

Since I encountered International Development Studies during my undergraduate studies, I have been grappling with fundamental questions such as, "why do poverty and inequality persist?" and "what prosperity or well-being truly mean?” I believe that many students aspiring to join GSICS share similar concerns. As we learn together, I hope to create an environment where we can pause to reflect on questions like "for whom is development meant?" and "what defines quality education?"
