Associate Professor or Assistant Professor
Associate Professor: Teach courses on a relevant subject and conduct a series of seminars in both Japanese and English
Assistant Professor: Teach courses on a relevant subject in English
The subject will be determined depending on the applicant's research field.
Area of research:
Development Management, Project Appraisal and Policy Evaluation, Education Development, International Health, Development Economics
Number of positions:
Associate Professor or Assistant Professor, one (1)
Depending on the applicant's performance reviews, either of the above titles will be assigned.
Qualifications:
1) Be able to offer lectures and provide research supervision to students at the graduate level in both
  Japanese and English;
2) Hold a doctoral degree or have equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant field;
3) Be able to offer lectures on the issue which developing countries face;
4) Be able to offer lectures on "Modern Economics" at the undergraduate level;
5) Preferably, having working experience at international organizations or aid agencies;
6) Preferably, having field experience in developing countries; and
7) Those who are under 40 years old as of April 1, 2022.
Employment status:
Starting Date: October 1, 2021
Associate Professor: Full-time position
Assistant Professor: Full-time (nontenured) position with a five-year appointment from October 1. The successful applicant will be promoted to a tenured associate professor depending on the research and teaching achievements.
Compensation:
Working hours and Payment will be based on the Kobe University's regulations.

Selection process:
After document screening, only successful applicants will be invited for an interview.
Applicants will be responsible for any travel and communication expenses incurred during the application process. Depending on the circumstances, we might hold an interview via Zoom.
