Leave of Absence, Reinstatement, Withdrawal
- Documents are available at the Academic Affairs Office or the following links.
- Approval (seal, signature) of your Academic Advisor is needed to the documents "Leave of absence" and "Withdrawal".
- Please submit it to Academic Affairs Office by bringing or mailing to below.

Submission Deadline
【In case of Leave of Absence or Reinstatement from April 1, and Withdrawal in March 31.】
By February 20. (If February 20 is a holiday, you must submit on the next business day.)
【In case of Leave of Absence or Reinstatement from October 1, and Withdrawal in September 30.】
By August 20. (If August 20 is a holiday, you must submit on the next business day.)
※When the period has expired, please inform the Academic Affairs Office immediately.
Leave of Absence
The application form must arrive on or before the designated deadline. (If the closing day is a holiday, you must submit on the next business day.)
Spring Semester: February 20
Fall Semester: August 20
※ NOTE
- Approval (seal, signature) of your Academic Advisor is needed.
- We cannot accept your application form if you have not paid your tuition fee.
- The tuition fee during an absent period is exempted. But, when a semester starts (after April 1 and October 1), tuition fee payment obligation occurs, so make sure you check your payment before submission.
Although we recommend your Leave of Absence by the semester unit from the viewpoints of registration and payment, you must consult with the Academic Affairs Office at once if you are planning to apply for the Leave of Absence after the semester started. - The longest period you can apply at a time is 1 year (2 semesters). (Master's students can take a maximum of 2 years, and doctoral students can take a maximum of 3 years.)
- Leave of Absence Period will not count toward the enrollment limit. You can't acquire any credits during the Leave of Absence.
- Reason of the request should be filled in precisely. If you wish to apply for the Leave of Absence due to illness, you must obtain a doctor's certificate.
- If you are awarded any scholarship, you must ask the organization and take necessary procedures. If you are living in university dormitory, or you are applying for exemption of tuition fee, you must go to the Student Center and take necessary procedures after submitting the Notice.
- If you are planning to do Reinstatement or Withdrawal during the Leave of Absence, please submit each notice in advance.

Reinstatement
The application form must arrive on or before the designated deadline. (If the closing day is a holiday, you must submit on the next business day.)
The day 20th of 2 months before of the reinstatement day.
※ NOTE
- Please submit the application form to confirm your intention even if the absent term is expired.
- When returning to school because sickness was convalescent, please submit "復学意見書 Fukugaku ikensho" by a family doctor with the application form. You must have the doctor of Medical Center fill out the designated certificate ("復学診断書 Fukugaku shindansho") and submit it too. Reservation is necessary for a check of Medical Center. Please inquire the Academic Affairs Office for details.

Withdrawal

The day 20th of the previous month when you are withdrawal.
